2012 and Beyond

2012 is upon us, that infamous year talked about for so long. Will it be the beginning of the Apocalypse? Will it be a time of reconciliation? Or will it be like any other year? Does it even matter?

Through The Teachings we are taught of the journey of the soul and that there is a Divine plan unfolding. We are also taught about the immutable laws of this Universe we live in and how everything works in perfect harmony, although we may view it as chaos/harmony, pain/pleasure or suffering/joy, it is all operating in accordance with Divine Law. So how are we to look at this time we are entering that so many have contemplated upon and planned upon for so long?

For me, I first try to look at this time through the lens of these laws with what understanding I possess. The fact that so many are prophesying doom and gloom says a lot about the group mind power to unleash chaos in a world built by this very group mind. As I know I am part of this group mind, born into this soul family, I must take responsibility for the way I am influencing it even though I do not know precisely my karmic role in patterning it. I must understand that the way I live, and how I think and form my words, has a huge impact on more than just myself. As we are all connected by the cosmic subconscious, we must understand our intimate connection to each other. I know I am in this space and time for a reason and living in harmony with my Self is the only focus I must have, for it is through this awareness of Self that I have the greatest positive impact on all.

The Apocalypse, a term emanating from John’s Revelations, was written in time of great uncertainty by men who were living within the turmoil of a massive empire too big to be adequately controlled with a volatile socio-economic climate and an intolerant and often violent religious climate. As I look at the Bible and all sacred text I know that there are those that interpret them literally and take every word as fact, and I know this is one of man’s greatest flaws. The underpinning of truth behind these great sacred works cannot be comprehended by literal interpretations as the vast majority of those that minister to The Word have lead society to believe. God does not rule with an iron hand and punish us for our transgressions; our transgressions punish us through Divine Law. If there is an apocalyptic unfolding of chaos during our time it will be through our own transgressions and what our mind draws in and believes, hence it will become. If we move into a time of great peace the same reasoning applies.

I prefer to look at this as a time of reconciliation, a time where thoughts must be equilibrated and actions adjusted, a time where each man and women must take the inner journey of self-awareness to “Know ThySelf”, that each of us must allow the Christ within to unfold in our lives and that regardless of whether this time is apocalyptic, reconciliation or just another passing of time in the world, the physical limitations of this world do not matter, only our inner limitations do. So I ask myself, if the world were to end tomorrow and there was a judgment day how would I fare? I believe this is what we all must be focused upon and since we all have far to go in realizing a state of perfection, I think it is fair to say that doing this Great Work is probably the most important gift any one person can give to themselves and to the lives of those around him or her.

I pray that you will all join me on this great journey within!
